On a quaint little island just off the coast sat a weathered little shanty overlooking the water.

As evening settled in, I looked across the gravel lot and saw the sunset in all its glory. I hurried outside, stood quietly for a while, and, of course, took my photographs.

Satisfied that I had captured the moment, I turned to head back inside.

Then I glanced at the window.

The sunset was there again.

Not just reflected, but framed by the old shanty itself, as though the evening had quietly saved one last surprise for me.

I laughed.

It felt as if the sunset was saying,

“Oh… not so fast.

It gets even better in stereo.”

Sometimes we think we’ve already seen the whole gift.

Then life gently turns us around and says,

“Look once more.”
